Tom Archer wrote: Another idea would be an option in your user profile that allows you to specify that you want a copy of any mail you send to someone else to also be emailed to your defined email address. This is a very very good idea Tom. What I usually did till now was to hit back and go back and read the text in the edit box :-) Nish Check out last week's Code Project posting stats presentation from :- http://www.busterboy.org/codeproject/ Feel free to make your comments.

Thanks. I would prefer regex myself. In fact that is how I do it elsewhere. I just thought that since he hadn't done it yet perhaps he didn't want to add anything to the message parseing here. I wrote this before I noticed his post in the ASP forum, and I have been posting to him about it over there since I noticed. :) Jason Jystad Cito Technologies Sonork ID: Ogami(100.9918) There ain't nothin' in this world that's worth being a snot over. --Larry Wall

Unfortunately, using the # responses to weight the rating only works when you have 2 articles of the same rating. But I agree that an article that's been rated 5 by a just a few users is unlikely to be more popular than one rated less than 5 by many more users. /ravi "There is always one more bug..." http://www.ravib.com ravib@ravib.com

This won't quite meet your needs, but what i've done is added this link to my links toolbar. This way at least i see post counts for the other forums while in the lounge. --------_** all the modern things have always existed they've just been waiting to come out and multiply and take over **_ Björk, The Modern Things

I seem to remember that there is a way of telling browsers not to use cached images on certain pages. How long does IE normally rely on cached images for before it requests the original from the server again? Or perhaps it is page hits? Simon Q: Why didn't Intel call the Pentium the 586? LOL. I've changed the way the message positioning is done. Now it only moves you around if there is no other way to make the message visible. cheers, Chris Maunder

If I find the time to write the script to do that, then it would be even easier simply to insert the target=_blank tag so that links *do* open in a new window :) cheers, Chris Maunder

Raffi wrote: If it's high, no one knew an answer, if its low, no one read it so you should post it again. Not necessarily. All it means is that no one bothered to answer. Views per question really won't tell you much, and will simply increase load on the server. If there was a counter there saying 514 people viewed your question and there was no answer, does that mean no one knows or no one bothers? If the view count is 10 then will reposting means you may get another 10 views - or another 514 views. Either way if a question isn't answered then the only options are to rephrase the question and text, or dig around yourself some more (and then, of course, post an article about it :D) cheers, Chris Maunder
