Although you asked in the wrong forum, I'll be kind and answer anyway. You can use RegMon and FileMon (both from SysInternals) to watch the registry and file changes as the setup application is running. Hope this helps, Jonathan Wilkes Darka[Xanya.net]

I'll not just guide you, I am ready to write it for you, if the machine's manufacturer offers an API. My rate is a moderate 450 EUR/day for full-time contract work. I've been assembling my own systems since 1985, and have been leaving them on 24/7 since 1980. I've *never* had a system fail in all that time. I know. That's why I wrote AMD/ATI as well. My card was made before that, however, so it is not AMDs fault. It WILL be their fault, however, if they don't replace the Linux drivers soon. This exactly depends on how they designed the hardware. In some case, the volatile information is stored in something like CMOS as in the case of PC. In other cases, the information is not considered crucial and handled over to user input, as it happens in your handset. This all is stored in HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) or beyond. And you have virtually no mean to reach there, especially in case of low profile controller devices like handsets. Java and other languages stand on builtin OS. They can't reach therein. ________________________________________ To Learn is to Change

 Read in the MSDN about SetupAPI.txt (it is located in the Windows directory). You can set in the registry a flag so you would get a lot of information written in to SetupAPI.txt

:-> It's supposed to be, (PnP means only that the hard disk driver uses the PnP driver architecture, almost every driver uses the PnP driver architecture).

Haven't tried FileStream yet. I did stumble on an interesting item: I changed my call to CreateFile thus: hFile = CreateFile( strThisFile, GENERIC_READ, 0, NULL, OPEN_EXISTING, FILE_ATTRIBUTE_NORMAL | **FILE_FLAG_NO_BUFFERING**, NULL); The FILE_FLAG_NO_BUFFERING flag had a dramatic affect - read speeds in the 18 MB/sec range (block size also makes some difference here). Thanks for the suggestions - they're what got me thinking. Regards.

If I'm not mistaken 6600 means Nokia 6600. If so yes you can most certainly connect it. Go to http://www.nokia.com[^] and download the latest version of Nokia PC Suite. Install it and go to Connection Manager. See to that your Bluetooth is up and running in both ur system and your Mobile. If it is so you must be using any Bluetooth stack as Widcom etc... If your mobile is listed then please go to Phone and Modem option...You must have a Bluetooth connection listed in the modems available other than your internal modem in the system(if you have any). Click on it and go to Diagonostics. Then give a query modem. if certain queries are returned with Success tag then you are fine(this may take considerable amount of time). Assuming you are using Microsoft WindowsXP SP2............I suggest the follwing Just go to Start->Settings->Network Connection and create a new connection wizard. Select Connect to Internet->then create connection manually->Dial up->...hereafter you have to give your Service Provider specific details. please consult customer care. Once the connection is set just double click it. Enter the user name and pasword provided by your service provider and there you go...Happy Surfing :-D There are only two kinds of people who are really fascinating-people who know absolutely everything, and people who know absolutely nothing.
