This thread actually brings up a question I had related to screen size during development vs. deployment... In the older VB6 IDE (No flames please) there was IMHO a great feature where you could view your form in relation to various screen resolutions. It used to sit just below the control property window and would scale to show your resolution and several common ones below that and then show an image of your form in relation to those. Has anyone seen that hidden away in any of the various menus and settings boxes? I have not really seen it since the 1.0 version of the framework was released. I know that you can just watch the height and width of your forms but having that little visual reminder was always handy. It might actually be a good idea for MS to put in a project setting that would let you pick a deployment scenario and help you keep your forms (maybe via a compiler warning) within that range.

1280 x 1024 on 19" crt at about 22 inches away. 1600 x 1200, about 6 inches away. Any higher than that, and I'd be inside the monitor. :) delete this; * poof! *

1600x1200 on a 19(18") crt and 1280x1024 on a 19" lcd at work. 1600x1200 on a 17" crt at home.

1st Monitor: 1152x864 / 21in. CRT 2nd Monitor: 1024x768 / 17in. CRT I'd keep the resolution higher on the main monitor except my eye muscles have a bit of an easier time with that. And, having a higher scan rate is nice for my eyes also. The 2nd one I don't stare at nearly as much, so I tend to keep the resolution higher for its size anyway. Jeremy Falcon

My boss was kind enough to set me up with a dual monitor display. For the 27" LCD on my left, I'm running natively at 1920x1200 (great for Visual Studio! :)). For the smaller 21" or so LCD on my right, I'm running at 1280x1024.

Me too. I was always having to switch resolution if I wanted comment on my work though because most of my classmates thought the short letters were borderline unreadable. One of my classmates got a copy of the new version of TP with syntax highlighting midway through my 1st programming class in HS. Like night and day.

unfortunately not. The CRT's 19"(18 visible), and supports a higher resolution than the newer flatpanel. IF I could I'd probably bump them both upto 2048x1536, dunno if my laptop's capable of driving anything that high even if I had the monitors.
