Console Adventure/Puzzle Games
-
Having just finished Broken Sword 3 and being part way through Monkey Island on the Xbox I am looking for the next adventure/puzzle type game to play. My 2 kids 9 and 11 (strange names I know :)) and the missis enjoy these type of games but we are struggling to find any other decent ones. Has anyone played similar games that they could recommend please? Personally looking forward to Black, out end of Feb. A straight up FPS, no co-op, no Xbox Live, no teams , just shooting and blowing things up - woooohoooooo! Xbox or PS2 options are both OK. Ta. I still remember having to write your own code in FORTRAN rather than be a cut and paste merchant being pampered by colour coded Intellisense - ahh proper programming - those were the days :)
Just wanted to check but am I the only one that thought 'command console' when seeing the word 'console'?

If you're gonna go PC stuff, try the Myst series.

Bad Astronomy |Development Blogging|Viksoe.dk's SiteTried Myst on the PS2 - having expected some sort of inkling of what to do when we got dumped on an island it was a case of WTF! Once we got over the initial shock of having to actually THINK we got on ok :) I still remember having to write your own code in FORTRAN rather than be a cut and paste merchant being pampered by colour coded Intellisense - ahh proper programming - those were the days :)

Yes, I had a similar case of WTF when I first played on a PC ... expecting something or someone to come out and give me a clue ... when I realized I would actually have to look around and think for myself, it was a rather enjoyable change up from "standard" gaming. After 30mins, I was hooked. I played the sequel: Riven and enjoyed it as well ... I have started and stopped Myst Exile twice, but haven't the time to get "involved" these days, as I once did ... But from what I've seen, it poses many challenges as well.

LOOM I actually recently replayed half of it on the PC using an emulator... Graphics sucks but it's oh so beautiful!
