Amazon UK doesn't have "Programming Avalon" but it does have "Programming Windows Presentation Foundation" which is dated as October 2005 with 447 pages.

Ahh OK. So have you tried using WPF at all on XP? I've looked a little at the API's and been curious to try it out, but I'm not entirely sure what is involved in terms of what development tools need to be installed. ¡El diablo está en mis pantalones! ¡Mire, mire! Not yet. At work I do unmanaged VC++/MFC mostly - very little managed stuff. I did manage to get it installed at home though, and I intend to try it out soon :-) Regards, Nish

On my way back from (or was it to) Lebanon, I baught a book in jooly, old England called Fermat's Last Theorem by Simon Singh. A few months later, a friend of mine told me about a speech he was giving and he was signing his book in The Smithsonian Museum in DC. The name of his U.S. version book was called Fermat's Enigma. Why 25 pages longer in the Canadian (international?) version? You see, they don't have to replace all the big words with little ones, like they need to do in the US edition. ;P

Actually that can't be the case, since "eh" is shorter than "y'all" which would make the Canadian version shorter than the US one - not longer. As far as not liking acronyms like WPF, WWF and WCF we're fine with them but we can also understand and pronounce the bigger words. We don't have to hide behind acronyms to look smart or important. Nor do we have to put other people down in order to try and "appear" superior.
