Looks good - but only 16x16 and in PNG :-( It'll be hard work to put that into an .ico file that supports multiple color/size formats. But still good for people just looking for 16x16 icons. Regards, Nish

Oh, also, FamFamFam works on the cocaine principle. Give them a free taster and then charge them when they want more :) So if you want ICO format, 32x32 etc. then you contact the FamFamFam chap and pay for it. He surely has them in those formats and sizes already. regards, Paul Watson Ireland Feed Henry! K(arl) wrote: oh, and BTW, CHRISTIAN ISN'T A PARADOX, HE IS A TASMANIAN!

Maybe they're intended for toolbars and menus. In that case they're good. :) ___________________________________ Tozzi is right: Gaia is getting rid of us. My Blog [ITA]

I didn't include this file when I installed VS 2005 Pro, as I assumed it would be the same set of icons/bitmaps that MS have shipped since the 90s (dated looking 16 colour versions).

Nope, they are not ... they are all updated and contain many of the same icons you see in newer versions of Office and Visual Studio.

I just ran VS 2005 Setup and installed them. Wow! Much, much nicer. I am also working on a new UI for a project of mine and these images will give me a good reason to finally add a high-colour toolbar. :)

Still, they are crisp, decent 16x16 icons, not 16x16 blobs of colors scaled-down from photorealistic 256x256 blobs of colors that don't deserve thew name iconic

Excellent, thanks Douglas. Glad to see they have been finally updated. Another good free, commerically useable icon set is: FamFamFam[^]. regards, Paul Watson Ireland Feed Henry! K(arl) wrote: oh, and BTW, CHRISTIAN ISN'T A PARADOX, HE IS A TASMANIAN!

Image Library[^] Someone recently posted a question in the lounge regarding VS icons and where they might find them. Oddly enough, I was in a similar position today, and found, whilst digging about on the MSDN, the link above. Found it useful, the icons contained therein are just what I needed, at least, and thought I would share the information ...

Just an FYI, this must only be in the higher end editions, as VC++ 2005 Express doesn't contain this file. ¡El diablo está en mis pantalones! ¡Mire, mire! Real Mentats use only 100% pure, unfooled around with Sapho Juice(tm)! SELECT * FROM User WHERE Clue > 0 0 rows returned Save an Orange - Use the VCF!

Yup.. but with c# express you can get some icons and images: it's one of the bonus given with express editions and it's one of the main reasons because i downloaded c# express edition ;) By the way Here there are some links to icons' packages that I found around (maybe some of them in post read here :D). Anyone know how to get this zip file out of the distribution media? I won't be installing 2005 anytime soon (not on this old computer!) but I'd like to check out the artwork. --Mike-- Visual C++ MVP  LINKS~! Ericahist | NEW!!
