Listen. Ask about what she does, went to vacation last, whatever, and listen very carefully to what she is interested in/excited about. Ask more about that, and hopefully you might know just enough about it to allow you to ask interesting questions. Admit your ignorance in any case, let her teach you about it and get excited about what she is excited about. You will end up with respect for her intellectually, and she will know it. This will impress her. DTrent

Really? Programmers are seen as persons who are serious. Now for some girls that by itself is a headstart. Not to mention that these geek jobs also let them know that you're a smart mf. And they love that. Of course she will want to prove that she's a smart mf too. So she will see other guys behind your back when you're into the long hours at work, to proove herself she's smarter than you. Because you're a smart mf you'll catch her doing it pretty soon and you will end your relationship. I now tell them up front. I am a programmer, I love my job. and I like to program in my spare time. Doesn't get me more action, but makes the non-action parts much less complicated.

Don't go overboard but women will notice the little things, especially how you take care of yourself (and therefore, how you're likely to take care of her). Make sure you've washed and shaved, clean & pressed clothes, cut fingernails, combed hair, aftershave and deodorant applied. No point falling at the first hurdle because you couldn't be bothered making an effort! It's old advice, but if you can make her laugh you're halfway there. Try being a little bit cheekier than you normally would - it makes you look more confident than you might be and should relax the mood a little bit too. Above all else, have fun - don't forget, you're not out to prove that you're good enough for her, she needs to prove that she's good enough for you!! :-D Good luck - let us know how it goes Dave Don't take life too seriously - no one gets out alive anyway...!!!

Dude, look at women like American-TV star Nikki Cox. She's got an unreal body, has been drooled over for years and who's she married to? A very, um, less than average looking guy who's a famous comic. The key: he makes her laugh and therefore, she enjoys herself around him. Therefore, you have to determine if you make each other feel good. If that's the case, then there's a possibility and you pursue that. Otherwise, you go in a different direction Remember that looks/body are only a small part of the equation and only serve to get her attention in the beginning. After that, you still have to have chemistry together. [Update] Just read that she and famous comic Bob Goldthwait were engaged for years, but didn't marry. Relax and be yourself. If being yourself doesn't "impress" the girl, then there probably isn't any future in the relationship. Do you know this girl? Treat her like a person and not as "conquest".
