They'll say MS is going against Islam beliefs by delaying Vista so much :-D Oops, we are getting into Soapbox territory!

Computers are blasphemous, as they can be used to display non-Islamic texts, and also naked pictures of camels. Surely these delays reflect an outpouring of Allah's wrath against the infidel Microsoft.

Now taking suggestions for the next release of CPhog...

This appears to be a report of the already reported delay, not an additional dealy on top of that. Anyone who thinks he has a better idea of what's good for people than people do is a swine. - P.J. O'Rourke

Yeah, I was kind of thinking it's getting real soapy...:~

Overheard in clients: Question: "So country music doesn't make you want to get down and boogie?" Response: "No, it makes me want to clean off the bottom of my shoe." I just have to say that's about one of the best statements regarding country music I've ever heard. Welcome to CP in your language. Post the unicode version in My CP Blog[^] now.

I think it's showing disrespect for Islam (no I'm not Islam) and I think respect is a universal-all-applicable thing. If you don't respect one you don't respect all. So that's why I made my comments. While you'd never know from the media there are peaceful followers of Islam (in what proportion to extremist? I have no clue.) who do deserve respect. Just my two cents though...:rose:

For what it's worth, i'm making fun of A) Some of the sad and ridiculous claims we've heard in the past week regarding "Thinks That Are Offensive To Islam", B) The reputation Al-Jezeera has in some circles as an apologist for Islam, and #3 The arrogant claims made by "religious leaders" world-wide, wherein some event resulting in death, destruction, embarrassment, or financial loss is blamed on a specific sin and/or sinner. All of these are ripe for (at least) a bit of gentle mocking, and it sure beats the disgusting displays of condescending "understanding" filling up The Soapbox these days. :|

it's not in addition. Aljazeera is just late reporting what's already been reported in western media. I guess Aljazeera is too busy keeping up the anti-islam image of the western world. RAH! RAH! Muhammad! ---sig---

And as for showing disrepect for the "peaceful followers of Islam" I'm sorry, but I'll reserve my respect for those who raise their voices against the hateful rhetoric and hateful actions of the extremists. Silence is the voice of complicity. When the majority of muslims are silent when someone who converted from Islam to [random religion here] is threatened with death, then I can't have respect for the "silent majority" any longer. ---sig---

Respect? No, probably not. But to me, they're still up a notch for those who would claim to love and respect human life and dignity, and yet do nothing but defend those who would extinguish both. I'm sorry. This thread is really heading in the wrong direction... The Soapbox has been just too depressing this past week. I've read things from people i respect that, frankly, make me sick. But if we continue this discussion, it should be there, not here.

Hello, and welcome to last week... ------- sig starts "I've heard some drivers saying, 'We're going too fast here...'. If you're not here to race, go the hell home - don't come here and grumble about going too fast. Why don't you tie a kerosene rag around your ankles so the ants won't climb up and eat your candy ass..." - Dale Earnhardt "...the staggering layers of obscenity in your statement make it a work of art on so many levels." - Jason Jystad, 10/26/2001
