You can use MySql with ASP.Net or php: many ISPs offer MySql as a free alternate to SQL Server and the one I use (brinkster) has just upgraded to MySql Version 5 so I now have access to a much richer set of features for the product. Go have a look at the MySql site for more information and hints and tips. I prefer ASP.Net (and C#): it's either a personal decision or one forced upon you by the company you work for or a project you join. If you're comfortable with php stick with it for now tho it does no harm to try and learn another language. www.merrens.com

Assalamu alaikum, You can use PHP with almost any RDBMS, all you may need is to install a specific provider to each RDBMS. For .Net it is the same, you can use MySQL as well as any other RDBMS. Good luck.
