Yes, in fact, there is a coalition of Jews and Christians that are calling for the Old City of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount (now relabelled Al Aqsa Mosque by the Muslims) to be handed over to its rightful owners, the Jewish people. (And no, unlike the Muslims, Christians do not claim ownership, thank God! :))

In theory all Christians may at one point have been Jews. They just decided that when they saw Jesus he was the Messiah. ------------------------------------- Do not do what has already been done. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.. but it ROCKS absolutely, too.

Don't get me wrong, women are generally smaller then men and they don't have the testosterone contributing to building muscle mass, but muscle mass and size are only two factors to strength let alone something as complicated as combat.

Hey, being Jewish has nothing to do with believing in Jesus as the Messiah, my friend. "Jewish" just means you've descended from Jabob (who was the son of Isaac, who was the son of Abraham. Maybe those names might sound familiar...) Being Jewish is like being Arab or Indian, it speaks of your lineage, not your beliefs. It sounds like you're confusing Jews with Judaism, which is practiced almost exclusively by Jews.

Oh okay - I think I mixed up Jews with Judaists. So is it correct to say that are a Jewish Christian then? Regards, Nish

You can call me whatever you want. :) The proper term would be "Messianic Jew". I usually don't go by "Christian" because my people have been persecuted by some evil people through the ages in the name Christ, shaming themselves and their religion in the process. Additionally I don't care much for the name "Christian", since 'Christ' is a Greek term: Jesus comes from the Greek "Iesus", which is a literal translation from the Hebrew. Christ comes from the Greek "Kristos", which is the Greek term for "messiah" Iesus comes from the original Hebrew "Yeshua", which means salvation Kristos comes from the original Hebrew "Maschiach", which means messiah So I prefer to call Jesus by his real name, rather than a translation of a translation. So, the name "Jesus Christ" is really Yeshua Mashiach. Or Jesus the Christ is Yeshua HaMashiach. Also, Christianity has strayed quite a way from the original belief in the Messiah. I'm not condemning anyone; I just don't typically associate myself with many of the beliefs and rituals of the Church as it is, especially the Catholic Church. If anything, I like the name Messianic, as it more reflects the Jewish-ness of Jesus and his role as Messiah.

Yes! I'd say at least half: since the gospels speak about Jesus and the disciples, you've got an almost exclusively Jewish story there. Even Paul was Jewish, writing most of the remaining New Testament.

I took Karate when I was 12 for a summer. The belts are similar in Kung Fu, but there are lot more moves and it is more fluid. It's funny, each system thinks theirs is the best. I just do it for fun and exercise and to get my frustrations out. The studio where I study uses karate style uniforms and belt system, except brown belt is broken into 3rd, 2nd, 1st and then black starts at 1st and goes up to 9th. They adopted the Japanese style uniforms because Chineese martial arts were outlawed in the area that one of the previous grandmasters taught in.

Now THERE'S an interesting POV - as far as I was aware, Israel was set up as a Jewish homeland....to me that suggests that Israel MOST DEFINATELY = Judaism. I realise that there are many other religions present in Israel, but surely giving a religious group a homeland kinda intrinsically links the two? Well, there's no longer the safety you have in the US. You have to learn a language completely different from your own. No family (as you mention), among other things. :) I guess what I'm saying is, she doesn't have the strong pull back to land like I do, to begin with. Top that with some definite negatives, and I think it would require a lot of convincing. :)

Heh. :) Somehow I think a language that doesn't use familiar characters English characters, and is written and read right-to-left, would be quite difficult to learn, for more than a new programming language. But it would be interesting to do, I agree. I do know some Hebrew, but certainly not enough to speak it let alone write it.

Rather than portraying the soldier as heroic, confident, or proud, my images disclose a complexity of emotions. The soldier is often caught in a transient moment of self-reflection, uncertainty, a break from her daily reality, as if questioning her own identity and state of contradiction. She is a soldier in uniform but at the same time she is a teenage girl who is trying to negotiate between these two extreme dimensions.

Consider Israel's history and the fact that everyone around them would like to eradicate them. Israel has faced genocide once I don't think they fancy it again. They have one of the most sophisticated and highly trained fighting forces in the world. 2 years of service is required by everyone and the net result is that every man and woman over the age of 18 is fully trained and can handle all classes of firearms if need be. The Israeli intelligence force is one of the very best and again most highly trained in the world. People talk of erradicating Israel but nobody will do it. The 6 day war proved Israel can take all comers without stumbling and dispatch them quite effectively. The only way to get at Israel is terrorism because in an all out war you won't be facing a country that has an army. You will be facing a country that *IS* an army a vastly different undertaking. - Rex

It's more fun then therapy. Plus it's harder to get the time to get in the pit at shows anymore with working and everything.

I really wish that people would bury the word terrorism, and call it what it really is, a coward’s way of conducting a war. Stand up and be counted, don’t hide behind a mask. :)

You bring up something interesting. Terrorism really isn't war. You cannot take over land, over-throw governments, enslave people, ruin a civilization with terror. You will serve two purposes with terror you will blow up a lot of your own young and bright people and you will strengthen the resolve of your enemy who you confess is militarily dominant or you would address them in open war. Those who conduct terror fail to realize the end result is just going to get them creamed. You'll take bites from the ant pile at some point though you'll just decide to remove the ants. Lesson to the ants would be to change tactics. I would not provoke Israel for any cause. That nation (Israel) is poise for action, trained for combat and can carry out orders swiftly. No thanks. I'd go after France.
