I'd work on my tan, and that's about it. My free time would still involve programming, but trudging my way to an office every day to write other people's software...no thanks! :)
I agree. I've heard several people say that if they won the lottery they would keep on working at their jobs. Personally, I think that's a load of crap. We don't like to be bored, but why would you work for someone else?

I'd wish for (in decreasing order of importance):
- Good health and a long life for myself, my loved ones and my friends
- A balanced lifestyle
- A substantial supply of cash so that I'd never have to work for someone else, and would be able to concentrate on teaching, helping other developers and writing high-quality free software
- A flat screen TV
- A restored daily-driver antique

I had this huge list, then I reread your question, what would make MY life better. A lot of things could have a minor impact on my life, but I'll ignore things that have a secondary effect. So, here's the shorter list, as I'm pretty happy with my life: My girlfriend has some health concerns that would be great if she didn't have. It doesn't necessarily impact my life, but my first concern is with her well being. Lose some weight (the daily biking is working, but hey, a magic wand would be great) Not be lactose intolerant A flat tax. I so loathe all the BS of taxes. Eliminate all my debt (again, the magic wand would help a slow process) Actually, not having to work to put food on the table. Just give me a large enough bank account, so I can write all the CP articles I want. Other people. Buncha twisted, scheming, perverted hypocrites. And Bloody Marys. Not enough bartenders know how to make 'em right. Hmmm... other people into Bloody Marys... Rid the world of Celine Dion. All religious groups get along. Have the money and looks of Catherine Zeta Jones. (Before anyone freaks, I'm a girl.) A winter home in Australia. My pets never die.
