When you're right, you're right. We should indeed. In fact, it would probably have been a great idea to have attacked Somalia first. We could have armed and trained the indiginous population there, and used them to invade Afganistan and Iraq. I'm sure they would have loved a little tit-for-tat. "You get that which you tolerate"

It was done. The US helped the somalian warlords[^] to fight the islamist militias (yes, the same warlords who ousted the GIs in 1994). Now the US might be pushing Ethiopia to intervene as another proxy, the opposite situation to events of 1982.

Ethiopa has a long history of fighting the Jihad, despite their apparent dispensation due to saving some of Mohammed's followers. A Taliban state in Somalia isn't going to go down well. http://k47.pbase.com/v3/87/314587/2/51576989.FrescoofStGeorge.jpg[^] Ryan

That is just one dimension of the conflict, and that might be changing Palestinian resistance/terrorism/insurgence is not islamist only. PLO recognized Israel’s right to exist for the first time, in 1988 but it didn't ensure the creation of Palestine either.

Israel is fighting to survive, but so are the Palestinians. Sending helicopter gunships to blow people up is effectively the same as sending young people wearing explosives. Neither is in the right. The Roadmap to Peace was a fantastic idea because it was balanced. I'm surprised and impressed that the US government thought of it and (in my opinion) it's the fault of the people in the Middle East that it didn't work.

You'd think that after their whole culture was persucuted by the Nazis that the Jews would be more understanding, but it seems that they are doing the same thing Hitler did. That's hypocrisy and using guilt over the Holocaust does not excuse it.

I'm still laughing - why don't we save them all the trouble: load'em up in 'copters and drop'em off in a convenient location.

they are more understanding, they realize evil has to be confronted immediately.

no hypocrisy, no guilt - just well honed survival instincts. Mike Dear NYT - the fact is, the founding fathers hung traitors.

Taliban State, this has to be seen. The radical islamism of the UIC is worrying, but it does not mean they will turn to Al-Qaeda supporters. Somalia might even been a safer place now regarding hosting terrorist groups than when it was a 'no-law area'. At least now there could a government responsible for what happens in Somalia. The example of Afghanistan might help them not to do the same mistakes.

There are certainly some hard line Jews who would like every Arab removed form Palestine. But I dont think the will go about it with Zyklon B. Of course, the fact that Mein Kampf is one of the most popular books in Palestine isnt helping the situation. Tronché pas ma miche! -- modified at 8:38 Thursday 6th July, 2006

That's what I mean. I realize the Jews aren't building another Auschwitz, but they are persecuting, killing, building walls, taking homes and so on from a group of people based on their race.

Since the warlords there have had support from outsiders (research the source yourself). The tigress is here :-D

Got any proof? How about a link for each: persecuting based on race. killing based on race. taking homes based on race. How? because She jumped in front of a bulldozer we are supposed to feel bad for her when she was flattened? What did she expect? When I watch videos of people doing stupid shit I have the same reaction. When you do stupid things and die as the result, you can expect such reactions from me. Kinda like the man who went up to the polar bear to pet it and was attacked. Stupid, stupid people. Thats because as Arafat was talking peace he was still attacking Israel. "There was a working assumption in the United States that Arafat's declaration of December 1988, in which he grudgingly recognized Israel and renounced terrorism, signified a long-term change PLO policy, and was not just tactical. Yet the inflamed rhetoric and violent activities of the PLO continued while Arafat talked peace. " Link So yea, you right, there are 2 sides to the story.
