I'd imagine so...although with the 2003 SP out of the way, at least they'll have more resources to dedicate to fixing the real nasties in VS2005.

So, as someone who skipped VS2003 and jumped straight to VS2005, I may have to wait a bit for a service pack, eh? :sigh:

I'm waiting for a day or so...got some testing and a software release to complete first!

Nothing pressing on my end, but waiting a day or three will give someone else the opportunity to discover the showstoppers.

Along the lines of, who watches the watchers, or who tests the testers, how do you know the SP won't actually break more things than it fixes? I find it odd that people jump on an SP, but they're reluctant to jump on a product until there's been at least one SP. I guess there's a history of crappy first releases but good SP's? Marc

The download page having broken links to the fix list, and the release notes being a zip file of web pages with the same broken link doesn't give me a warm feeling about the level of testing that went int releasing this SP...:suss:

while you're dissing the sloppyness, look at the title of the release notes page. The english one says vs2002 ;)

Broken release notes on a major service pack that took 3 years to get out. Always a good sign of attention to detail (or lack thereof!) :sigh: Any bets on regressions?

anyone know what's been changed/fixed? The english release notes point to a dead knowlegebase article.

Well one thing is for sure: you won't catch me downloading this Service Pack until they get the Release Notes back up. I want to know exactly what this thing is doing before I install it. I really don't feel like re-imaging my PC because my registry got irrevocably deranged. X|

I currently only use C# 2005 Express, so would a VS2005 SP fix apply to this as well as VS?
