Is there a list of fixes for this service pack anywhere, other than the very vague description on the link you provided? Mike
Isn't that the purpose of the Beta release? So that by the time they do a full release, their testers will have determined what's actually fixed?

There seem to be a lot of different kinds of "issues" at Microsoft, i.e. "Supportability issues", "Eligable functionality issues" etc. Interesting, our issue list is broken down by product then by how quickly it needs to be fixed, i.e. "Next maintenance release", "Optional" and "wish list" for future releases. We rate issues by how they will affect our customers regardless of what it takes to fix them, MS seems to rate them by how they will affect Microsoft. I guess that's the difference between a small nimble company and a big bloated one.

Windows service packs have had betas for years, ever since Win NT 4's later ones in fact. VS 2003 SP1 had a beta too.

Windows service packs have had betas for years, ever since Win NT 4's later ones in fact. VS 2003 SP1 had a beta too.

Whatever it is I'd want it chained up so it couldn't scare the neighbours.

Nah, so that by the time they do a full release, we would have found out what they've actually fixed for them :)

If anybody bothers to test the service pack, could you tell me if they manage to fix the problem I am having with the menu control, (I am having one of those high productivity moments MS promised me) My menu control seems to want to go vertical even though I have set it to horizontal, and no matter what I do I can't make it go Horizontal. This has indeed boosted my Productivity as I have had to spend an hour to try and get this too work. Who knows what I would've of done with that hour maybe, Ballmer forbid, spend time with my Kids or wife??;) -- modified at 5:18 Sunday 24th September, 2006
