I've had to develop for the Mac platform for the past year or so here at work. There is a program packaged with OSX called "Quartz Composer" that allows for the creation of complex, rich interactive applications. There are beatiful transitions including the Ken Burns effect[^]. Here's a screenshot of the development environment: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Quartonian_screen01.jpg[^] I am curious; does anyone know of anything similar available for the Window platform?

There is a Windows port of GIMP[^] ... and searching on GIMP Burns Effect, I found this[^] website ... SO ... I have NO idea if it answers your question, since I honestly didn't read it, but I have to imagine you could find a product on Windows that does something similar ...

There's Photo Story 3[^]... it does a pan-focus effect that sounds like what you're talking about. Not very configurable though - it pretty much just does slideshows. Complex and interactive need not apply.
