Maybe a Javascript forum would help that...

I just posted a message in the ASP.Net forum, but that's not what this topic is about. I'm just slightly amazed that so many questions go un-answered in the forum. Are you guys too busy trying to figure out your own problems with .Net, or do you not feel so charitable where sharing expertise is concerned. The C++ forum, by contrast, is full of people willing to try to help. I thought the majority here had an unnaturally high level of carnal love for .Net and ASP...

Hey, many of us are busy either sharing a  in the Lounge or slamming each other with empty bottles in the Soapbox. :-) Seriously though, I think the problem of ignored questions will be ameliorated when the programming forums are finally merged into one, and we can simply select what type of questions we want on the list. This will allow developers who are talented in multiple areas to field all those questions without having to jump from forum to forum. Alvaro

Nah, I reckon, considering the person to whom the reply was made, that John showed remarkable restraint :)

Have you ever counted the number of 'javascript' questions that flood that forum?:((

Try improving your reading comprehension skills. This is about CP's asp.net forum, not about where else to try to get help.

I use ASP.NET just enough to get by. I'm fairly handy with C#, and can certainly hold my own in HTML / JS coding, but ASP.NET questions tend to be... well, let's look at what's on the first page of the forum:
- ReportViewer question.
- Javascript question.
- CrystalReports question
- GridView question.
- SQL or possibly VB question.
- IIS question.
- Pivot table question.
- TreeView question.
- HTTP question.
- DetailsView question.
- 2 Basic ASP.NET questions.
- 2 HTML questions.
- 8 Stupid questions.
Of these, i'd have a shot at being able to answer maybe four of them, and of those, maybe one is at all interesting. The rest deal with components i've either never used or hope to never use again. Or are just plain stupid. So yeah. I ignore the ASP.NET forum. On those rare occasions i feel like answering questions, i hit the C++ or Web Dev forums, since there's at least a chance there that i'll find an interesting question on the first page.

Gawd you have an amazing ability to provide very succinct and truthful answers that bust me up...

:) I don't know why it popped into my head at the time. If I recall correctly, that's one I learned back in the days when I was studying for SAT exams. X|

Speaking for myself, in order of importance: 1. I know nothing! (about ASP.NET) 2. I don't hang out much in the forums anymore. 3. Because I got burnt out filtering through the inane questions because the horse refuses to drink the water (or the fisherman refuse to learn how to fish) Marc
