Oh well, that's not so expensive. It's only 4 times the budget I have for my PC ;P

Holly .... errrrr ... you know what... This thing SCREAMS! I have never seen a system so fast and it rocks pulling up task manager and seeing 8 (yes that is an eight!) CPU graphs :) 8 fans and it is still softer sounding than my last P4 desktop. I will be spending the next week gettin' the place all comfy and setup but it is going to be worth it. Time to fill up that 800 Gigs of HD space and 4Gig or RAM with VS.NET :)

What kind of mobo does it have? I looked at some of thier lower end barebones systems, and the boards they used were outright nasty.

You'll need Virtual PC 2007 Beta or Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 Beta 2 for hardware virtualization to have any effect. Also, it still doesn't emulate a DirectX 9.0-compatible video card so you won't get Glass. To get the Virtual Machine Additions for Vista RCs, you need to sign up for the Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 Beta at connect.microsoft.com[^].

Looks like an old server board, which fits with thier desktop practice of dumping the junk they can't sell into the barebones systems.

My intent was (besides ending up with one kick-butt piece of equipment :) ) was to try to future proof myself for a while. I am in the habit of hardware swapping every few years and wanted something that I could keep for quite a while that was not going to leave me wanting more after 18 months or so. That and the wife dared me to buy a Xeon system :)
