Yesterday, I played backyard cricket with some friends for about 4 hours or so. This morning I woke up feeling half my body is dead. My bones and muscles ache really bad and I have pain all over my body :-( Someone was asking here (few threads below) about what food programmers need to have to stay healthy and productive. I guess it's not just enough to take care of what you eat. You've got to have some exercise too. My friend (at whose house I played) has suggested that we find a local school whose baseball ground we could use as a cricket pitch during weekends. So hopefully I am going to get fitter over the next few weeks.

    Regards, Nish

I've recently taken up squash as a way to improve my fitness. Currently, my friend and I are doing 1 40 minute session a week (combined with visits to the gym and swimming), but we are getting such an adrenaline rush from this high-octane sport that we are going to be upping it to 2 sessions (and then maybe join a league).

Deja View - the feeling that you've seen this post before.

I hope we had some people out here(Louisiana) who could play cricket. Sitting at the computer all the time and not exercising does show up even when we do small work like cleaning the house. Thinking of at least going to the gym, which apparently is availably at my apartment complex and free to use:sigh:.

I've made a resolution to stay fit. Now I get up from the computer every 4 hours. I eat foods rich in cholesterol. And I always make sure to leave enough time at the end of the day to brush my teeth. I feel alive!

On the weekend I was out with my friends for some b-ball action - after about half year. Good news: I can jump almost as high as always. Bad news: I feel legs, arms, back pain like never before :(

I've been slack on going to the gym, it's been 6+ weeks, but I have been working in the yard. Not the same, I know. However, I am clocking in with the lowest weight I've been at in over 5 years, so things aren't all bad. Still, it would be nice to feel healthier, not just thinner.

I'm in reasonably decent shape, since I use a gym three times a week, take tae kwon do classes twice a week, and kayak whenever I find the time. I spend too much time at the bar, but I compensate a little by walking to and from (about 1 mile each way). Sometimes I jog or run the route, just for variety, though running on pavement is tough on the shins. As far as diet goes, I'm terrible, but I'm trying to change my ways. Recent reading has led me to the inescapable conclusion that consuming animal products leads directly to certain kinds of cancer and heart problems, and I have eaten meat almost exclusively for years. I have no interest in going vegetarian, but I can do a lot better at balancing the input. I suppose that most of the benefits of a meatless diet can probably be realized with a low meat diet. At least, that's what I'm counting on.
