Ah, well, you're right! It's friday again. I just can'z believe it. My week was so short. Monday: Took a day off. Yesterday no work, tomorrow no work, there's no reason to work the single day in between. Tuesday: May 1st, official holiday. Wednesday: I actually did something useful! Thursday: Had to go to a meeting in Mainz, spent four hours on the train. Friday: I'll actually do something useful! :cool:

Take this opportunity to know the difference between "its" and "it's". "Its" is the possessive term of "it" and so when you tell "its FRIDAY", it's absurd. Unless you meant to state that this Friday belongs to your dog, or something alike. Whereas "it's" is a single word which is formed by contracting two words, "it + is" or "it + was", which is read contextually.

This ranting is at least as old as the roman empire, and noone's managed to stop their language from drifting in meaning. Guess what, civilization survived quite well. :laugh:

I will never concede the point. I have watched the language degenerate for 50 years, and seen misunderstanding grow by leaps and bounds, simply because one party to a discussion understands the language perfectly, and the other only vaguely. Yes, languages evolve, and should as a society's experience grows richer and the need to express new experience accumulates. But in a language where different nuances are attached to words that have similar, but not exactly the same meanings, it is important that people understand the differences. Fewer and fewer people can claim that knowledge, and those that don't are too ignorant to understand that they are missing somethings. I've seen fights break out that way, more so every year.
