i think u should change because if people are not supporting and there is no motivation and praise for good work then any one will get depress and it is not good for ur personal development also so i will suggest u should change.

The people you work with, obviously think it's a problem. If you want them to treat you differently, then you should stop giving them reasons to criticise, even if you think they are wrong. And, if you want to be given different tasks at work, you need to prove you can do them, and you need to ask for them.

Dude, if your boss is telling you to stop SMSing at work, then stop. If your boss is making a joke of you, look for another job.

Well I think you should change your job....you could be wrong or the others could be .... but in any case...i think its better you change your job.. But then you may take this negative opportunity positively ... and see if that makes a difference May be you are more timid and presented yourself as a easily vulnerable laughingstock... better learn to deal with these people and boost your own self-confidence.... i m not suggesting any full scale harmful and unethical retaliation ... but if you let this happen to you ... you'll more likely do that in future...finally bad for both the parties one risky suggestion that works if you are efficient at your work: Yell at your boss ... he'll learn to respect you...

As long as it's in your break times, but certainly not whilst you are 'supposed' to be working.

Hey Buddy You need to boast of what you are doing. Whenever you do something good just apeak aloud , when you doing this for a long , everybody will come to know what you are doing & how good you are. Make your stand , everybody may not be doing intentionally, but you need to shot a loud that you are good & doing good job. People need something to talk about & they find whatever is easiest. I would say just make your stand Tell to all that you are doing a good job Float self appreciation mails :-) Tell all al them that you are important & doing good job & i hope sending sms would be a small thing that you can manage without affecting your work. I don't think we're hearing the full situation here. There is obviously an underlying cause for the way that you perceive these people are behaving towards you. You really need to have a long hard think about the way that others see you, and why they act this way to you. Are you the new person in a tightly knit office? If you are, you will have to bide your time. Do you use innappropriate behaviour/language? Do you interrupt others? Do you act as though you know more than the others? I know that this seems harsh but you will not be able to change attitudes (yours or theirs) without figuring out what the underlying cause could be. As far as the work goes, it is common to put the newbie into bug fixing. I know it's not interesting, but it is one way to learn what the software does. Plus, somebody has to do it and that's normally the last one in. If the problem really is with you then changing jobs isn't going to help. You will merely switch locations for your misery. Do you try to join in with the others outside work? Consider that going out for dinner/drinks with your colleagues is a good way to break the ice and to show you are part of the team. Plus, remember that you "Work to live" and not the other way round. The work day may seem long and boring to you, but you are still getting paid and you can look forward to things outside work. That can be a big compensation when you don't particularly like your job.

Deja View - the feeling that you've seen this post before.
