      Hmmm. I took a look at the sample code for creating your first JavaFX application. There looks to be an awful lot of code here. Silverlight seems to be geared more towards the declarative which should mean that you can have a good designer work on the UI using design tools.

        Well, I expect better from Sun to know we don't need to learn another programming language! Expect Microsoft to have Silverlight.NET soon! (No surprise there...) God bless, Ernest Laurentin

              Well, a light version of .NET in the browser, that is. But WPF is the more feature-rich version for the full framework.

                    Yeah, I agree there is a bunch missing at this time, but I figure more will creep over to Silverlight over the next year or so, but I doubt they will put the entire WPF over there, Silverlight is basically for those who want to go cross platform, you can use WPF over the net now on Windows machines that have all the core loaded.
