Congratulations for this one being selected. When you've done it and written up your blog, we can link to this whenever people post recruitment questions.

Deja View - the feeling that you've seen this post before.

        Q: Why?;P

"Neque porro quisquam est qui dolorem ipsum quia dolor sit amet, consectetur, adipisci velit..." "There is no one who loves pain itself, who seeks after it and wants to have it, simply because it is pain..."

Good luck with that. Not sure how appropriate or if it'll help but you're welcome to use my 'Contracting for Dummies' and other employment articles if you wish.

My favourite C++ question is: When should a destructor be virtual and why? It was the only one of 6 I could actually answer on the test set by my senior developer to find his own replacement at my first serious job. They spent over a year looking for a replacement and the only guy who ever passed the test already had 5 job offers. Several left in tears some without attempting even one answer. I ended up with the job by default when he left partly because no one could be found who was qualified to replace him. Now that was a very deep end indeed :) I only wish I still had the test, with another decade of experience under my belt I might be able to answer 3 or 4 by now.

Nothing is exactly what it seems but everything with seems can be unpicked.

                    A. Judging from some of the freelancers I know, apparently it's just the ability to stand upright without too much help.

No - but fortunately IR35 has weeded the very worst wasters out of the contracting market...and into the civil service where they belong.
