I guess they didn't learn to not be first-adopters.

Not a real excuse. Leopard isn't a revolution, just an evolution, it should Just Work.

Agreed, and for now, the software I use is not really "Leopard" approved (Traktor). and I'm not certain my current MacBook will be sufficient to support all of the new features. But on the other hand, I installed Vista on my PC this week-end.

On Friday evening I was driving near the Apple store in our area and even though it was raining, people were standing outside the store. I think almost 50 people were standing outside the Apple store here in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. I was so surprised to see a crowd for Apple OS X...;););)

They suffered an awful lot more from third-party extensions[^] in the pre-OS X days - Apple provided hooks into the OS at what is arguably too low a level (still do, arguably - Input Manager hacks[^] and Objective-C 'posing'[^] seem a bit dodgy to me).

Looks to me like Unsanity's APE product makes the system go APE-shit when Leopard is installed.

Not so much these days. They've come down and if we didn't get 30% Dell discounts at work the Apples would be cheaper than the Dell spec we have to buy (laptop and desktop.)
