You gave me Rush to love, and tonight I was listening to one of my favourite Canadian songs; Mmmmm Mmmmm Mmmmm. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed this song. Thank you Canada, and thank you Crash Test Dummies - a song that's within the reach of my vocal register.

Best thing out of Canada - Arcade Fire. Saw them live last week in Nottingham - UK. Superb. Best live set I've ever seen. Even tops Roger Waters, who, if I weren't married, and he and I were both gay, and he fancied me, and I fancied him, which I don't, I would shack up with.

That's a bit unfair. You're right about Rush though. Thanks to them, technical proficiency, drum solos and sci-fi concept albums almost seem like a good idea.

The numbers I uncovered were -6 and -7 so I thought I had won, and so did the woman in the shop. But when she scanned the card the machine said I hadn't. "I phoned Camelot and they fobbed me off with some story that -6 is higher - not lower - than -8 but I'm not having it." Tina Farrell, a 23 year old thicky from Levenshulme, Manchester.
