Whats Chicago like? I have to go there next week.

All kinds of good stuff to like in Chicago. I enjoyed the Adler Planetarium the last time I visited.
Hey that sounds good. Shoot for te moon is appealing, I read a book way back about the early US space game, it started with von Braun in Peenemunde and went on to the early US space flights. It would be interesting to see that.

If you get time to make a side trip, the Air Force Museum in Dayton Ohio is really cool.

Is Dyton far from Chicago?

You can try it but the best Chicago Style pizza is from Zacharys pizza in Oakland California. Just a subway trip away from San Francisco. I mention this because I know that a lot of dev conventions are in San Francisco.

Chez Paul would have been at the top of my list but its closed :(. You would have to be a pretty hardcore Blues Brothers fan to go through this but here is the list... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080455/locations[^]

I spent a week up there on vacation a couple of months ago. (I live near St. Louis, MO). It's expensive. Everything. Try to avoid using a car. Definately visit the Aquarium, the Field Museum, and the Sears Tower. Navy Pier is also pretty cool. You can take a boat ride from Navy Pier to within a couple block of the Sears Tower. I think the scenery on the boat ride was the most memorable experiece for me. You get to see old and new architecture all blended together. Good luck,

Heck yeah! Wright-Pat makes the National Air and Space Museum look like the rejected leftovers. Of course, Chi town to Dayton is a pretty good haul. Definitely not a day trip. But, Shedd Aquarium in Chicago is really cool if your into marine life. -Draugnar

But the OP is going to be in Chicago and it's kind of a ways from San Francisco :)
