If you get time to make a side trip, the Air Force Museum in Dayton Ohio is really cool.

About a 4 hour drive. Personally I think it's worth the drive.

You can try it but the best Chicago Style pizza is from Zacharys pizza in Oakland California. Just a subway trip away from San Francisco. I mention this because I know that a lot of dev conventions are in San Francisco.

Chez Paul would have been at the top of my list but its closed :(. You would have to be a pretty hardcore Blues Brothers fan to go through this but here is the list... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080455/locations[^]

I spent a week up there on vacation a couple of months ago. (I live near St. Louis, MO). It's expensive. Everything. Try to avoid using a car. Definately visit the Aquarium, the Field Museum, and the Sears Tower. Navy Pier is also pretty cool. You can take a boat ride from Navy Pier to within a couple block of the Sears Tower. I think the scenery on the boat ride was the most memorable experiece for me. You get to see old and new architecture all blended together. Good luck,
