I spent a week up there on vacation a couple of months ago. (I live near St. Louis, MO). It's expensive. Everything. Try to avoid using a car. Definately visit the Aquarium, the Field Museum, and the Sears Tower. Navy Pier is also pretty cool. You can take a boat ride from Navy Pier to within a couple block of the Sears Tower. I think the scenery on the boat ride was the most memorable experiece for me. You get to see old and new architecture all blended together. Good luck,

I found good food and an awesome place to see the town was from the 90 something floor of the John Hancock Building(maybe 95th), awesome food and greate view. Kinda pricy though...and they have a nice bar there as well.

If you get time to make a side trip, the Air Force Museum in Dayton Ohio is really cool.

Heck yeah! Wright-Pat makes the National Air and Space Museum look like the rejected leftovers. Of course, Chi town to Dayton is a pretty good haul. Definitely not a day trip. But, Shedd Aquarium in Chicago is really cool if your into marine life. -Draugnar

You can try it but the best Chicago Style pizza is from Zacharys pizza in Oakland California. Just a subway trip away from San Francisco. I mention this because I know that a lot of dev conventions are in San Francisco.

My desktop xkeyboard, at the office is a UK one, the laptops I use have belgium keyboards. A lot of the letters are in different places, and, since I dont touch type, I cant set it to UK layout, else I forget where the stupid little symbols are, the slashes, the percents, etc.
