Criminals, and prostitutes are also part of the world, but would you take your child to the worst part of the neighborhood for them to see it? There are plenty of gated communities and areas where like minded people with morals live and work. The world is not just the lowest common denominator.

Although if you're not parents, you can still post your opinions. Today, in the UK, it was anounced that contraceptives were to be given out free to schoolchildren in an effort to reduce teenage pregnancy. I'm the father of a beautiful (biased opinion) six year old girl, so I have a few years before I need to worry about this problem, but... If you had a young girl and despite all your little chats, lectures and everything else, your 'little' girl comes home one day and says 'I'm Pregnant' What would you do? Would you support her, whether she decided to have the baby, or a termination. Would you persuade her to have/terminate the baby in line with *your* wishes, kick her out of the house or what? Well since I have two sons but no daughters this isn't likely to come up....but if it did I hope I'd support her to the best of my ability without anger or predjudice...but being acutely aware of my own failings I suspect I'd fall short in some way (as most of us do). After all, we can only do our best, and then kick ourselves for mucking it up afterwards. Andy Metcalfe - Sonardyne International Ltd

IMHO as a 15 year old, if you raise ur daughter in the right way, you need not worry about this.

I think you only ever get your child opinion on how she was raised after the period has ended! Alice thought that running very fast for a long time would get you to somewhere else. There's a knock on the door and some 8 foot guy fashioned in the shape of a gorilla, accompanied by two stiffs resembling what can only be called mafioso, says: "My daughter is going to have your son's baby" Alice thought that running very fast for a long time would get you to somewhere else. I'd like to think that after 12-16 years of responsible parenting such issues will not even come up. Statisically speaking the teens most likely to become sexually active, smoke, drink, or do drugs are/were children of homes with absentee parents. The old cliches about having "the talks" with your kids seem to be true. Don't wait until they're already in the battle though. Start teaching her about responsiblity and consequences now while she's still young enough to listen. The only other advice I give is to be an excellent example of how a man should treat a woman in your relationship with your signifigant other. After growing up in a home with two parents who respected each other, she'll be less likely to fall for some smooth talking joker who simply snowed her with a bunch of sweet talk just to get her in the back seat of a car. The best sermon is a good example. "Tell me about the god you don't believe in, and I probably wouldn't believe in him either." - Unknown

Yeah, there appears to be a phenomenon apparently of girls who go from being straight to lesbian to bisexual and straight again. A lot of people would like to hide this fact. Regardz Colin J Davies

My sister got pregnant at 17. She was raised the exact same way as all of the rest of us... which I beleive was "the right way". She was going out with her boyfriend for 4 years and both my parents and his knew they were "negaged in sexual" activites. But just because they made one mistake doesn't mean anything.

That is the problem with families - no-one can tell you how to bring up your own kids, but you can always tell other's how to bring up theirs. ____________________ David Wulff "You don't go to the kitchen to take a piss - if you do, don't expect to be served." - peterchen on Bill SerGio.
