Is an easy one for anyone that actually reads. Mind you, its very depressing how kids these days generally are totally dead set against reading. The future according to Idiocracy becomes more probable with every passing day.

I don't think its 'against reading'. Its just that they find other things (watching movies, online chats/games, etc) more entertaining and _more useful_.

With the exam? Thank fully, I'm one of the best 3 students in the class. Unfortunately, the examiner had a bone to pick with us. I think I managed to pass along with 3 others. All in all, I think I'll get a grade higher than C in the subject. About 17 other students will have failed miserably. It was a tough exam compounded by a terrible teacher and a lack of study resources.

Seriously, it costs me $50 ontop of what my insurance pays, I'm there 45mins and it consits of this "How has your back been" "Very painful" "Have you done the excercises?" "Yes" "Ok this week I want you to try these different excercises" She then gets me in all sorts of wierd positions and tells me they are excersises. After a month of this, doing my excersises and not doing any physical work at all im weeks behind where I need to be with renovations, I have the electrician coming thursday and still need to cut about a dozen holes in the floor and walls for him, the lawn hasnt been mowed and I walk like an old woman.
My sympathies: I am having physio for my slipped disk and the health insurance covers any and all costs for as long as the consultant says I need it. Not that I'm finding it terribly helpful but I like the heat treatment and I am getting (slowly) better (today is bad but that happens). Good luck with that (and to anyone with back problems: grr is all I have to say: can really fuck you up)

OK, so this has not been my day. I woke up this morning, got in the shower, washed my hair, and grabbed the conditioner. Not much left, so I shook the bottle to bring it all down. My back siezed up. As in, I needed help getting out of the shower, and could hardly move. So, I spent the day getting to physio and getting checked out. I am online against his orders, just checking my mail, etc. So, my wireless modem died a couple of weeks ago. It takes a week for Telstra to send a replacement modem, so I had to sign up for a whole new 3 year account to stay online for that time. I changed modem model to a faster one when I did this, which I also made clear to all the people I spoke to. When I bought my second modem, before they turned off the first one, I found it does not plug into my aerial. I called them, they said they would send the adapter. I have called twice to confirm it was on the way. In the meantime, I was told by one department that Telstra does not sell them, I need to buy it myself. For $50 from a company in rural NSW who have antiquated systems, so it's a PITA to buy from them and that will also take a week to get here. So, I wait for the one that Telstra say they sent. Today the second modem came. No adapter. I call Telstra, they say it is on the way. I say it's taking too long, they put me on hold, and eventually tell me it's leaving Wed. I said that their systems are a disaster if they tell them that it's been sent when it hasn't. She says 'there are many departments in Telstra, we can't be expected to master them all'. The system is not broken, she's just not from the 'reading the screen' department ? I've also had someone tell me that they are the first line of support who can only answer simple questions and when I asked who the second line was, I was told there isn't one. The levels of retardation astound me. Perhaps I'm just cranky because I am in pain, but I don't see how anyone can run a business like this. It also turns out I am able to cancel that second account, even tho I've been told I can't.

That's a little harsh. Are they completely incompetent? Yes. Scum? No. Just remember this when you make a mistake at work. How we really shouldn't take life so seriously. I'm sure they don't. Also, before you injured your back, were you exercising much? Sitting at a desk all day with out exercising will cause you much more trouble then just your back.

Cheers :beer: Well, to give the devil his due, he has an incredibly solid understanding of the subject(s) and is a wonderful mathematician. But he fails miserably at teaching. What saddens me is that the other subject, I'm most likely getting an A. It would really suck if this one fails. I now know that I have to study like a tank for all my other subjects. I need to graduate with a good standing if I want to do my PhD eventually. Here's hoping!

That is very true. My back pain only eased up after I started taking walks and doing some mild aerobic exercises. Till now if I miss out on more than 1 "session" I feel the pain creeping back in to my back, neck and shoulders.

Try Yoga. It was my silver bullet for chronic back pain. I stopped all my running, biking, swiming and limited myself to just a single 60 minute session once a week over a six month period. All my pain went away. I went back to swimming. I added running and then added my biking back in. I know for a lot of agonies, you have to search till you find the one thing that works for you. I got lucky with yoga. :)
