Strictly speaking, when they say the source code is available what they actually mean is the debug symbols are available. I was a bit disappointed not to be able to download the source directly.

Well you can download the source from the source server using some tools. BTW The debug symbols were always avaialble at http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols.

Nowhere yet. In comments Scott says "Yes - we'll be releasing a separate download version (that copies all files locally) in the near future as well. "

We should be learning programming, birds and bees, quantum theory, and so forth, by playing massive multiplayer online (MMO) games. Everthing should be entertainment!!! I live to be entertained!!! If I want to cast a spell, I should have to write some lines of code, or describe the creb cycle, or solve a 14 dimensional knot problem!!! Come on Microsoft, get with the times and make learning about programming pure entertainment! Erm, *cough*, ummm....What was I about to say... Oh yeah, an article would be nice. :-O Marc

I did. However, this thread did say that the source code is now available, not the source code is going to be available as a download. Hence the correction. Sheesh - we're not after vapourware.
