Feels faster, CP seems super snappy, maybe its the raised connection limit that has been upped to 6 now. :)

Yeah, I didn't like the way they had the menu bar and the favorites bar enabled by default, I like IE7s interface because it was very minimal, but they are easy enough to disable. It does seem a little quicker but maybe thats just codeproject behaving it self more ;)

They speak of something called 'Automatic Crash Recovery'. But when there is a crash in some ActiveX Control hosted in a particular tab, it is going to crash the entire browser right?

Very much. There might be a risk of running into a OS wipe-and-reinstall too, in extreme cases.

having a software uninstallable doesn't make it good and well running though

Most people disliked the hidden menu bar in the first IE7. That's why they changed it. For me, in practice I don't use menu bars very often. I find a combination of buttons + keyboard shortcuts more productive. But, I still like having the menu available for some reason.

I have had to put it in to Emulate IE7 mode to make it usable though :/ codeproject was alright but pastebin.ca and hotmail were screwy.

You mean all these years I've been spelling Javasript wrong?

                                        cheers, Chris Maunder

I have had to put it in to Emulate IE7 mode to make it usable though :/ codeproject was alright but pastebin.ca and hotmail were screwy.

Since IE8 is in web standards compliance mode by default, that sounds like it's more a problem of the website than IE.
