A was using the latest Adobe Reader 8, and the memory usage of it it's just incredible. After a while it got over 500MB. So what pdf reader are you using? Any good one that has also select text functionality (it's a tick of mine to select the text while I'm reading it). I don't want to use a separate computer just to read pdf ;). The latest Adobe reader is a crap, but still missing the functionality to send emails

I've heard really good things about a somewhat lesser known PDF reader. It's called Foxit.

HTe other time Adobe AcroBloat really does make sense is when searching large pdf documents. A modeless sidebar with surrounding text displayed for results (similar to google searches) is infinitely better than a modal dialog with next/prev buttons.

I was using Foxit for a while, but it turnd out it was not able to display some pdf documents, so I swiched back to Adobe (not that I am happy about it)
