Slow day in the lounge...
-
Is it just me or is today especially slow in the lounge? Last post was by me almost 6 1/2 hours ago and the one before that was 10 hours ago. I can't imagine that it's that nice world-wide where everyone is outside.

It's that nice here, really. Just getting back to my work after a beautiful day in the park with my wife and daughter. There's 19,000 online, though. Although I have a suspicion that Chris' online tally may not exactly start at 0 :suss:

Most people have things to do on weekends. Today i spent the entire morning driving around Minneapolis looking for computer parts to refurbish a computer I aquired. Then I spent the afternoon returning them after I realized less was working on the computer than i thought and it was no longer cost effective. Then tonight I have my first date since breaking up with my old girl friend... which was actually what took up most of my weekend last week :)

Do you live around the Twin Cities? Sorry if I've asked before... You have to let us know how the date went! What did you do? Oh, to live vicariously through single people...

It's my 6th wedding anniversary - I can't be seen to be posting to a developer site today... oops

Yesterday (Friday) was the day after our anniversary. My husband was in his cubicle talking to one of his employees. I rang and he told the employee, "See? You are so important I am not taking a call from my wife." The girl felt bad and then he said, "Eh, it's the day after our anniversary so I've got a freebie." :)

Was maybe Google spidering?

I hadn't thought of that. The site's index is updated really quickly so that might just be.

I remember there was one work day that there seemed to be a high number of users logged in and someone said it was Google. I've seen unplublished artciles through Google (checking if the article is plagarized) so they must index often.

Independent contractor is the second. But I don't make enough yet to stop the first.

It was 85 degrees here and not much humidity. Worked in the yard/garden most of the day.

Sounds lovely... It was at least 85 here when I woke at 6:00, then it warmed up a bit. X|

I take it you must be in CA/AZ or that general area. We've seen that weather before and I know how much is SUCKS. We're lucky enough that it's so rural that if there is an overuse of AC transformers do not quit. The last couple weekends have been so humid for this area (I realize for coastal areas it would be considered normal) I have not gotten much done in the backyard. That's what is so weird about South Dakota, Nebraska, MN, etc. You can be -30 (F) in the winter and be over 100 in the summer. I don't think many areas see that much difference.

Check this out. Less than 30 mins after you posted this, it's already on google. And it's been there for a while. http://www.google.com/search?source=ig&hl=en&rlz=&q=I+remember+there+was+one+work+day+that+there+seemed+to+be+a+high+number+of+users+logged+[^]

We get a fair bit of variation here along the Colorado river, but not that much. The lowest I've seen was about 15°F at the office one morning, and the highest was 135°F for about two weeks one summer. But a range from 25-120 is normal, and humidity isn't a big deal until summer monsoon season. The humidity may be only about 60% but at 120 it's a lot like drowning in boiling water, which in fact might be a relief. :-D

It was a gloomy day, but I was at the Thames River. :-D
Cheers, Vikram.

Yesterday wasn't that gloomy was it? Unless a) you're talking about a different Thames river or b) I missed out the gloomy bit while catching up on sleep.
It was overcast and always threatened to rain, though it actually didn't. And I'm talking about the Thames that flows through "Lundun", as the natives call it. :-D
Cheers, Vikram.

Same here, although I spent most of the day sleeping since I'd been up for 24 hours before and we had our summer ball / carnival here at Imperial [^] yesterday / this morning so knew I wasn't going to get to bed much before 5am.

Hey, Ed, you want to meet up? I change at Oxford Circus every day, so I'll see if I can get off work early one day.
Cheers, Vikram.
