Good free DVD ripper?
-
I have a DVD camcorder and it comes with some software to transfer it to the harddisk as an MPG file (Pinnacle Studio). But the harddisk version is of lower quality than when I play the DVD directly. So it seems there's a good bit of quality loss. Can anyone suggest a free software I can use to rip the DVD directly into my harddisk without losing quality?

What I'd like to know is which of these can be contolled via Automation. I'd love to run it from another program, telling it what to rip, what to call a file, etc. I'd like to rip data DVDs, not video.

It's probably not for me then.
So the creationist says: Everything must have a designer. God designed everything. I say: Why is God the only exception? Why not make the "designs" (like man) exceptions and make God a creation of man?

My latest book : C++/CLI in Action / Amazon.com linkTry capturing your video to AVI when using Pinnacle. AVI are very large files and will require lots of space on your hard drive.

My latest book : C++/CLI in Action / Amazon.com linkSounds like you may need a little more than just a DVD Ripper. Try www.doom9.org or www.videohelp.com Both have a lot of good information and tools for working with multimedia. BTW, Pinnacle studio should have a tool for editing video... RTS
