Canada is nice, they are always looking to steal US developers by offering a lower salary and less benefits but hey, it is Canada ?

Less Benefits? We have free Health Care. I call that a split-decision.

I have an Uncle in Northern Alberta who has offered me a job, and I passed the entry requirements to become a citizen. Only two things holding me back... 1) Wife doesn't want to move 2) Northern Alberta only has two seasons. Winter and Deep Winter!

Hello all, I am working as a jr .NET developer (since 3 yrs) in Belgium, planning to take a (long) break with friends in Canada. I wonder, how should it be to work there as a developer? Do you I have any good chance to get there an interesting job? I am working as a developer, but I'm doing business-analysis as well, which is the way I want to go. Anyone with interesting experience?

          Q) Why did the rich Canadian go to the U.S. to get major surgery performed? Actually, this joke doesn't need a punchline as the joke is Canadian health care.

Maine isn't much better, I have been on site for about 4 weeks and it is either raining or about to rain. I made the mistake of taking my nephew to a water park up here and let me tell you, we left after 2 hours and went to the movies instead across the street. Even I thought the water was cold. (I could have stayed longer but the poor boy was turning purple)

You mean the poor American who can't afford his overpriced mortgage, has two cars, a big screen TV, a spouse that doesn't work, cable television, a new computer, 2.5 kids, and brand new furniture but somehow just can't find the money to afford health-care? I love spreadsheets, I do a lot of them when I read on the news about someone who can't afford X. 9/10 times it comes down to poor choices and nothing else. The few who actually need assistance actually get it. Personally, I am shocked by the idea that everyone deserves health care. But my tirade into that becomes Soap Box rather quickly.

Most are either Senior Developers or Architects or Project Managers or all of them after 3 months, must be a slow learner or maybe honest.
