In 2006, there were just 819 women aged 20-24 living there out of a total population of 21,421, according to the most recent census. They forgot "and 10,500 aged 65+." Marc

Did anyone bother to check what the local sheep population was? Or am I thinking of New Zealand? Or was it Wales? Hmm.

Of course. Where have you been ? :P Seriously, I would imagine the statistic is given on the assumption that 20-24 is the age at which it's reasonable to assume most of these women are not married. Which is probably an outdated assumption, but....

Yeah but Australia has more sheep fullstop and if you live in an australian city you'll be more than aware of two things 1. the long line of traffic leaving the city for the country on Friday afternoon 2. the fact that Australian women are continually bemoaning the lack of blokes Bryce

Regardless of whether people are up in arms about this or not, he has spoken the truth. If you are an ugly female, and if there are more females than males in your area, then the law of averages says that you will miss out (everything else being equal), as men would choose a good looking girl over an ugly one. Therefore, if you move to an area where the men outnumber the women FIVE TO ONE, you must (by definition) improve your chances of finding a partner... People in general (and feminazis in particular) seem to be far too ready to get all offended about things...
