G'day. I reckon Mr Molony had good idea, and is just trying to turn a frontier town into a society. Just wait until those ladies find out that the miners make 2 to 3 TIMES the national average wage, and accommodation is real cheap out there... thousands of guys, with lots of money - he'll get some.

In 2006, there were just 819 women aged 20-24 living there out of a total population of 21,421, according to the most recent census. They forgot "and 10,500 aged 65+." Marc

Not the whole article for obvious reasons but should be enough: Australian plea for 'ugly' women The last census showed there were just 819 women aged 20-24 in Mount Isa The mayor of a remote Australian mining town has come under fire after saying that female "ugly ducklings" might benefit from its shortage of women. John Molony told a newspaper last week that "with five blokes to every girl, may I suggest that beauty-disadvantaged women should proceed to Mount Isa". The council has since been swamped with complaints from both men and women. But Mr Molony has refused to apologise for the remarks, saying he was "telling it like it is" in the Queensland town. Located 1,829km (1,136 miles) from Brisbane, Mount Isa is home to one of the world's biggest underground mines. In 2006, there were just 819 women aged 20-24 living there out of a total population of 21,421, according to the most recent census.

NZ does have more sheep than people and they are also the most fit population on work. Insert your own joke.

Bet the sheep there are really happy. Re: the NOW site... What was it the late George Carlin said about this topic? I paraphrase here: "Women's libbers? Why do they want liberation? Most of them are women you wouldn't want to **** anyway".

Let me know when there is an island of female super models that are lonely because not enough men live there and I think I might care more.

That location has some great scenery, but there are some slim pickens there.

In the south I would say if you are looking for truly ugly women, go to any Steak n'Shake or CeCe's Pizza.

Just go to any mall or any Wally World here in the fat capital of the NW and you'll ask yourself over and over, 'what's he doing with her'
