PHP for speed definitely, whether for linux, windows or whatever...but ASP if required for nt server or other servers if supported. I try to stay away from asp cause the speed and stability just isn't there. Apache all the way, IIS can stuff it...the security hole god of all servers heh. ColdFusion isn't a bad server though, that is for linux. It's unstable and a resource hog on nt...on linux it's almost 150% faster. As for the new .NET server, not running my server any time soon or ever. FreeBSD all the way :-D

I agree. Give it time and it might just have its uses for large corporate database systems some day. I find it the easiest to work with when it comes to databases. Heh, it's like vb in a way, If blah = blah Then blahblah LOL. I use it on my nt system which is networked with my freebsd system for certain database functionality thats about it.

At least I lost most of the programmers' gut I'd developed(still carrying some extra beer though :rolleyes: ) and get a little color. Also managed to bring in a meager amount of cash doing a couple of web pages, building computers, and doing tech support stuff on the side. 10 months...If I knew it would of been that long I would of taken construction full time(90+ a week) if no projects were available. I'm self-employed and I also work construction averaging 90+ hours a week. I like inside work but gotta have the outdoor work as well otherwise I'd go insane. As you can see 10 months without work would drive me insane, actually just 2 weeks would be enough :eek: I wish you luck man. :)

Good luck! I'll be sending good thoughts/vibes your way. Things are picking up. I'm seeing more job postings and getting more callbacks. I've got a phone interview tomorrow also. I read up on the company. They are doing really good but it looks like a pretty formal company. I don't know if I would fit in there. I'm hoping their website isn't really representative of the company culture. If it goes anywhere I might need to employ Colin's spying techniques. :rose: Cathy Life's uncertain, have dessert first!
