I'd think the company that created this situation would be the problem not the people trying to make a living in a cubicle

I agree but I am not going to do business with an American company that obviously ships American jobs oversees.

AND SO DO AMERICANS. That's what makes me so upset. With the economy and everyday local news saying "Company X laid off Y employees" it makes me LIVID that when I call into my account that is an American "bank" I get someone who can't properly pronounce my name because of all the vowels.

that American boss is trying to learn the company rhetoric of the day so he/she doesn't lose his/her job.

and the Indians really needed them before you. I was not attempting to blame you, you should take whatever opportunities come your way, it's the big corporations that move the jobs around, you're just making the most of your local situation.

I don't shop at effing "namebrand" store. I look at every label and try to buy American, or at least western hemisphere.

Well, I am sure that Indian call centre workers, on average, give a better return than Indian programmers do. I realise he's not in India, but I've worked with Indian outsourcing companies, and it was a joke.

Please don't. The real reason why we are trying to learn is because the American accent sounds professional to Asian ears, meaning our customers are not from America. Maybe that's why our American boss is hiring us because not only could we understand our fellow Asian's accents we could also (hopefully) sound professional to them. :)

I agree with both of you. It's not the fault of the person who needs the job that it's been moved to where they are, but as consumers the best way to protest the movement of jobs offshore ( which you could protest because of the impact on local workers, or because of a drop in quality, I certainly hate talking to people who can't understand me ), is to let our feelings be known and take our business elsewhere. I know I buy milk that costs almost twice as much, in protest of the bigger groups who are killing the farmers. I think that's the only way to show you're serious about supporting paying a fair price for a fair product.
