Our problems aren't with Indians or Indian companies. There are several fantastic Indian developers who regularly contribute to this site who are the equal of anybody. Our problems are with incompetent and lazy programmers. Unfortunately, if you take a look at the ASP.NET forum, there are so many basic questions from Indian programmers who ask for solutions to very simple problems. They don't look things up on Google. They demand instant answers by telling us it's urgent - well whoop-de-frickin'-do for you chummy, who cares? They downvote you if you don't provide fully working solutions for them? They lack basic knowledge, and they will insist on using text speak which takes ages to translate. Again, this can be applied to many people, but unfortunately we see a predominance of Indian's who are like this. Also, as stated before, this doesn't apply to all Indian's. There are several here who I'd be proud to hire.
Deja View - the feeling that you've seen this post before.

I've never understood why, since you can choose your own screen name on CP, and there is a lot of discussion of "lazy foreigners" here, you would choose a non-western name. Then the rest of us would just think you were an illiterate American or Brit instead of a dang furriner. Although some would not be fooled (John can spot 'em a mile away). Like calling your credit card company: "'Allo, sank oo for calling, my name he is Larry." Yeah, right pal. :|
Someone's gotta be the last to know, but why is it always me?

No, I didn't, and then I got nominated by several people and not reawarded. I'm pretty sure the reason is Vista.

As you have seen, there is plenty of racism around here. They will say that "I have jewish friends" and "I have black neighbours" to justify who knows what political correctness hypocrisy and then begin to throw bigoted generalizations at you. They will ask you to thank them for slaving you, exterminating you, colonizing you. They will persecute and harrass you if they find a typo in your post. Indians are the blame-all around here thanks to Simmons and other bitter souls. My advice is that you move on and ignore these guys. There is really nothing that you can do to help them anyway and, if you stop to think about it, their opinions say a lot about them and not a single thing about anything or anyone else.

How so? Wasn't your MVP award in the VC++ area?

Not sure about Christian. However seing similar posts quite often these days in the Lounge I have started atleast hating such peoples from India. Not to mention I am from India. A tip for you would be to read any post form Christian which you feel is a hatred comment against India over and over again till you realize what he is actually saying. I am sure you will have a different view sooner or later.

Your generalizations are nothing more than your problem. Help yourself by taking a moment to try to understand this. It might help you to consider the "crime" of the original poster. His feelings were hurt by the way Indians are spoken of around here. At the time of this response, some 21 people have voted down (vetoed, rather) his post. How does that make any sense? He is not even given the right to feel bad about the insults hurled at him.
prehaps you should also consider the insults hurled against christian and the rest of us guys OF ALL NATIONALITIES then by formentioned original poster. My "generalizations" are also based on my experiences of a fair few years (15yrs+) in the business. I know when I see someone with experience and ability and I also know when I see a complete idiot. Unfortunately the original poster took offence to comments made by ppl here about his nationality of programmers, thats his problem not ours. Very much in the same way I take offence in some of his comments, thats my problem not his. Comments made on here are not made lightly, if people think someone is an idiot on here they will say so.. Consider this, the internet is a very bad medium for communicating.. WHat would you do if you had a colleague come up to you in work in person, asking you programming questions every 30 seconds, each one "urgent" and needed answering there and then, would you tell them to go away and do some research? use their brains to solve the problem? gentley point them in the right direction? thats what the majority of people do on here when responding to questions. Or consider prehaps, would you write the code for them, tell them word for word what to do, which is the lazy way out, as it doesnt encourage learning, it doesnt encourage thinking, it doesnt encourage the most important componenet of software development. USING YOUR BRAIN. Whenever I have worked with trainee programmers I have encouraged the first option, let them solve the problem with encouragement, research, pointers and tips, and they turn out better programmers for it. I do not encourage writing code for them or copying code off the web, this is the worst thing you can do. Unfortunately a growing majority of new/younger programmers these days are trying to take the "copying code" and "write this for me please" "urgent plze help me with my assignment" route, where you simply end up coding for them, And if you dont, then they get offensive, much in the manner of the original poster at the top of this thread. I have and always will provide pointers to anybody on problems, but I point blank refuse to do the work for them. You will never make a good programmer that way. Now its unfortunate, but a quantity of Indian programmers see this site as a means of getting their work done with the minimum level of work on their part, "Oh i need to do something, I will just ask COdeProject someone will do it for me" It goes back to what I said in my previous posts whn I have work

No, The British Ruled you for so many years because of all your in-fighting and internecine politics. Once you actually combined and started making it work , we left. ALthough we left a lot behind. Language, Government, Civil Service, Transport, You can walk the streets at night, Education, The Wine, don't forget the wine, and apart from that , What did the Romans British ever do for you!

I LOVE "The Life of Brian". I watch it twice a year, at Christmas and Easter. :-D That is where you're quoting from, or did Monty Python lift it from somewhere else?
