US soldiers saved our a**es in wwii, both true for French and Brits. Had they not been there, the Brits would not have lasted much longer against the Germans.

Yes, and I always acknowledge Europe's debt to the US, and also to Canada, Oz, NZ, India, and all who fought against the Axis powers. We have museums and a library commemorating the USAAF stationed here in WW2. (Some game veterans still make the pilgrimage!) I just hate to see any nation's soldiers described as cowardly.

I'd suggest the 1st Gurkha Rifles. But be very polite. The Gurkhas are some of the best soldiers in the world.
