out of all the US presidents that are still alive (ford, reagan, carter, bush 1, bush 2 and clinton), Clinton is the only one that i could see being an interesting talk show host. Ford's too goofy; Carter's too serious; Reagan is in sad shape; Bush I has been ruined by dana carvey but wouldn't be interesting anyway; Bush 2 can barely form complete sentences (every time i hear the man speak without a teleprompter, i'm amazed that they let him outside without a helmet on). -c

And on top of that, he managed to pull it off for eight years. I'm glad he's out of office. And, while Bush may not be the smartest, he's certainly honest and he has smart people around him. I can't wait to watch this show. I find anything trashy to be incredibly funny (like GWB being president!). I can't see how this could be anything but degrading, but I guess we will find out. In my oppinion Clinton was and is a great guy. At least he had charisma (just ask his interns :)), something GWB could really use. Maybe Clinton missed his calling when he became president, I think he always should have been a talk show host. Ryan Johnston

I didn't say that he was dumb. Nor did I try to compare him to scientists. I am stating that he does frequently "invent" words and that he sometimes doesn't know what to say. However, I beleive he is a truly smart man. Not to mention that he is very honest and a good guy. And you're right, his abilities and strengths lie elsewhere than in the intellectual. He is extremely compassionate and he has a lot of common sense. Richard Stringer wrote: Now in Texas we know exactly what he means - its the other poor folks thats gotta figure it out. I love Texas. What a cool state. I live in San Diego and I get really tired of all the liberals here in California spewing this nonsense about how Rumsfeld is cruel and how GW's trying to poison us by "putting" arsenic in our water. David Stone It seemed similar to someone saying, "Would you like to meet my knife collection?" I was a Republican by default - born the year Reagan was elected, comfortable with Bush as a slightly-more-cool Reagan (he didn't like broccoli & got to puke in Japan... i was 12, ok?). But Clinton wasn't a predictable, boring, aging, lying, eloquent, maintainer-of-the-status-quo. He was a predictable, boring-but-trying-to-look-hip, aging-and-fat-but-seemingly-oblivious-to-it, lying-but-in-sadly-blatant-ways, not-eloquent-but-trying-to-make-up-for-it-by-talking-even-more, bringer-in-of-scary-and-potentially-dangerous-new-policies. And there was also Al Gore. It just wasn't *right*. In hindsight though, as bad as Clinton was, he could have screwed things up even more, so we should probably cut him a bit of slack & let him have his talk show. Carter gets to build houses after all; Ex-Presidents need their little hobbies...

Ryan Johnston wrote: something GWB could really use Ok, seriously - why? What is he supposed to be doing that a heapin' helpin' of piping-hot Charisma would help him out? Do we really need *more* people making us believe that White is Black, Up is Down, Right is Wrong? Not that i think it'll happen, but what's wrong with hoping for a pres that'll just do his job and get out, and can take a dump without holding a press conference?
