I have a file on my Windows Mobile Device that I need. 1) Try to email it to another account that the laptop has access to. Fail: I am roaming so I can't send files. 2) Try to log into webmail on the Mobile device and send it since I have Internet. Fail: My webmail provider doesn't support attachments. 3) Try to emulate full client for number 2. Fail: Browsers not supported. 4) Try to beam it to the laptop. Fail: Laptop doesn't support bluetooth 5) Search entire Floor for USB cable that fits. Fail: Found every cable ever made except for the one I need 6) Attempt to beam to a Blackberry. Fail: No one knows how to accept files on there blackberry 7) Attempt to log into GoDaddy's account management tools and upload file to my account. Fail: Mobile Devices and Extreme Ajax do not seem to go well together. 8) Write a custom PHP script and upload to my website so I can upload the file from my device to my website and then download the file from the laptop using the account manager tool. Success. Heh, I am sure there was a better way but it was fun.

When signing up for Gmail they assume your Google account needs to be completely and irreversibly altered by the gmail account created. They change your login, account name, settings, etc and it is very difficult to undo (requires deleting Gmail account) and still leaves traces. I just found it so completely annoying so I don't use it.

Maybe it is because I signed up from within my Google Account.

Sounds a bit like the way AOL used to mess with your system. I say used to as I stopped using it after it took a complete re-install to rectify the crap it left behind.

On mine: 1a) Copy to microSD card... 1b) Take card from Mobile device and place in adaptor (after blowing off 'pocket fluff') then into laptop and copy file. Success!

My effort was a direct result of not having the correct equipment or being able to drive to get it. Trust me I would have taken any easier route but I needed to get the file and I didn't want to take a cab ride to the hotel.

It could be worse... I frequently type like I'm talking to bad speech recognition software. The words would be pronounced somewhat similarly to what I meant to type, but are usually way off (though spelled correctly for the "misheard" word).
