        Yes you're right, on the mail there is the name of the mother, she was the recipient - how stupid is that guy.

              I have a close tie. The local "porn shop" in my hometown pastes on their marque, [name] was caught shoplifting [product], [date] when someone attempts to steal something. It stays up until the next incident. Now THAT is embarrassment. Also, the shop is close to the main drag, so the entire community will see it if it's up more than a week or so.

                  What Karl never figured out was that the package had been delivered to the next door neighbor by the postal "service." They'd opened it without checking the address and when they realised what had happened, he wrote a note explaining why it was opened and took it out and leaned it against the correct mailbox. When the mother went out, she picked the package up and since it was already open, saw what was inside.
