my favorite is to write it in HTML, embed it as a resource, then display that HTML in a dialog box. it's much easier than fncking around with that crappy HTML Help Editor.

Notepad. I write HTML and then pass it through HTML Help.

Any text editor - we write in DocBook then convert that to HTML, PDF and CHM
Java, Basic, who cares - it's all a bunch of tree-hugging hippy cr*p

I should have said we developers here don't want to write it ourselves!
