From an end-user perspective I considered IE to be the best browser from IE 4 through IE 6 (at the time when IE 6 was released). But today it's an antique with way inferior usability. However, many corporations cannot easily junk it. Most consumers, assuming they meet the system requirements, should really be on something more up-to-date by now. But no doubt there are many who: 1. See no reason to use anything other than IE and 2. Consider IE 7 less usable than IE 6. Personally I think IE 7 is better than IE 6 but still way short of Firefox or Opera. (I reserve judgement on Chrome because it's still a bit rough around the edges. Really it's still beta.)

That's not hard. Even telnet is better than IE 6 and it isn't even a browser.

I wish all browser versions older than a year, two tops should be killed off. Time for a new movement out there, where everyone makes their site only accessible by new browsers and force people to update, if they can't then too bad! It is shame that it takes 10 years for a technology to move on!
