GPL can benefit people who don't have to make a living but it can mess up so many other things due to the viral nature.

I'm going to rename my company The Monopolies Commision then.

It's interesting to see that the target of enmity for Anti Trust and Anti Competition seems to be switching away from Microsoft towards Google. Maybe, in 20 years time, people will get all warm and fuzzy about MS. Clickety[^]

piffle BTW : if you're running Cool Previews it may be hiding the Pins, try relocating its gadget, see Options - "Show the Preview Window when I ....", they used to have a delta by which it could be offset but they took it away; I nned to complain as it was me who requested its inclusion in the first place. If you're not already using CoolPreviews then its worth a look. and they don't actually stick the Polytetrafluoroethylene onto the frypan, they weld it on.

IBM seems to be regarded the Jolly Blue Giant these days. I wonder how we'll regard IBM they when they takeover Microsoft. They've still got the cash they were going to use to get SUN before Evil Larry outbid them. They've got to do something with it, either return it to the shareholders or spend it, its not earning much right now. The regulators wouldn't let them get HP because HP has EDS, whereas IBM & MS don't actually compete on much these days, given that it was IBM that more or less spawned MS, it would be sweet irony to see them eat their own offspring. I think everyone should lay off Google till it eats the Apple, by which they will prove themselves to be Beelzebub incarnate. Then we can go after the new entity, Scrambled Fruit as it will undoubtedly be named, so as to rid the world of such an dastardly confection.
