                                    Haven't you ever watched a movie, TV show, or read a comic book? Huge, dangerous vats always have rickety planks over them. The bigger and more dangerous the vat, the narrower and less enclosed the plank. And no matter how modern and high-tech the rest of the place might be, some poor sap will get stuck standing in the middle of that plank, poking around the vat with a barge pole. It's just a fact of life. Like the burning wheel rolling away from a crash...
