I accidentally ran my daughter's cell phone through the washing machine. I disassembled it (battery, SIM card, etc) and let it sit out for a week. It powered up and still works. One thing I did hear was to put it (disassembled) into a jar of rice and let the rice draw out the moisture. My two cents.

Immerse the whole handset into a bowl of uncooked rice, it should soak up any water residue and moisture...dunno about the timespan...perhaps for 24 hours?? Wouldn't use salt or anything like that...in case you corrode the electrics... ;) Hope this helps, Best regards, Tom P.S: Damn...a few others got the suggestion out before I did :-D .... oh well... :laugh: apologies for duplicating the 'rice' posting...

Yess !! There are still chances :thumbsup: But if you tried to check it is working or not by switch it on after it get wet then forget you beloved cell. :( Never switch on the phone after it get washed away. :| if you switched on the phone it will short circuit the internal parts which are still wet. :doh: Just keep patience until it get dried. and that will take an entire week. So just pass out that period. :) let it dry naturally or put the parts in the uncooked rice. Rice will sock the moisture. Then try to switched on the phone if still its not working then give it to authorized service station ONLY. :cool: Don't give it to any local repairers.

I will give you an update on this later, if the phone works fine I can probably sell it on eBay as a water-proof cell phone and making a profit! :-D
