Buffalo Wild Wings (Blazin' sauce level)
-
Okay, last night we got some hot wings from Buffalo Wild Wings, and when asked what sauce level we wanted, I told them to give us the hottest they have - the girl said that would be Blazin' (their hottest sauce) and added that it is very hot. Bah - I thought with scorn, how hot could it be after all! Well I was wrong! I had to keep munching sugar candy, and sip orange juice (the beer didn't do at all), and also wash my mouth after every 2 wings. I was crying half the time too - it was that hot. But it was wonderful! Really wonderful. I just don't know how much damage it did to my intestines and stomach linings though. Advice to anyone trying this out : Keep sugar ready, and take deep breaths after every bite, else you WILL throw up.

:-D Well we took a take-out, so no one saw my distress except my wife and son.

Yeah I ended up swallowing a large scoop of cherry ice-cream before I felt it was safe to go to sleep.

The trick is not to rush it. If you take it slow, and wash down with cold juice/milk or something like that you can make it up to a dozen wings or so.

My latest book : C++/CLI in Action / Amazon.com linkI like my food to be very hot (I add chilly sauce to the Szechwan fried rice that has my friends reaching for the water) but recently I've been trying to cut back. Too many people have been drumming it into me that it's not good in the long term, and I can kinda see it for myself - I have trouble the following day. But eating hot, spicy food has never been a problem for me.
Cheers, Vikram. (Cracked not one CCC, but two!)

Same with me - I lavishly add hot tabasco sauce to fried rice too :-) And I nearly always eat my kerala meals with *really* hot mallu pickles. In my mom's side of the family we just love hot pickles, hot chillies, peppers etc. But this hot sauce last night was something else - believe me!

My latest book : C++/CLI in Action / Amazon.com linkI went to a place called Wings one time and ordered the hottest they had. They were good and made me sweat some, but otherwise bearable. The manager came by the table and asked how the wings were and I made some comment along the lines of "good, but not hot enough." He laughed and said that he had some sauce that wasn't on the menu. I said I wanted to try it, but then he tried to talk me out of it,,,I thought he was going to make me sign a release or something. I finally talked him into bringing them. I managed to get two down before I thought I would die. They were so hot that they disabled my taste buds, so I didn't really enjoy them that much.

The trick is to just blaze through it before your body figures out what's going on. The more wings you're stuffing down, the less you're breathing; the less you breathe, the less it burns. :-\
That's the way I like to do it too. I was lured into a false sense of security by how easy it was for the heat one step down. It was still really good though...the 2 that I ate.

Sounds like the Habanero chili pepper (ranked 100,000–350,000 on the Scoville scale), or possibly the Red Savina Habanero (ranked 350,000–580,000 on the Scoville scale) were used in that sauce. Habanero chilies are the hottest peppers I have ever eaten.

That is characteristic of the Habanero, it burns going in and it burns coming out! I can only use very limited amounts of Habanero sauce or I just can't taste what it is I am spicing up.
